Spring Snipe Sailing Season is Here!

Time to dust off those covers and get ready for a great Spring and Summer of Snipe Sailing in Annapolis! Here we go in chronological order:

TESODs start May 4th

SSA hosts casual, unscored Tuesday Evening Sailing One Designs every Tuesday from May 4th through August 31st. Sign up is required (click here), but it is free for all. To coordinate Snipe attendance, we have set up a WhatsApp group. If you’d like to be on these notifications, you can do one of three things: 1) fill out this quick Google Form (click here), 2) add yourself using this link, or 3) contact Nikki Bruno or Lisa Pline to add you (or if you have any questions).

SSA Spring Regatta / Quantum Clinic May 22-23th

To kick of the season, we are adding a Clinic to our normal Spring Series. Quantum’s George Szabo will be coming out to help us all get faster. Details TBD, but structure will be a Clinic in the morning, followed by racing “inside” in the afternoon. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more info.

Colonial Cup June 5-6th

Our Annual Colonial Cup is going to be fantastic this year, as it will be seen as a “pre-Nationals” event. Carter Cameron is running this year’s event and promises to it make awesome, including Tshirts and drink tickets.

If you’re coming from out of town for both Colonial Cup and Nationals, we can make arrangements to keep your boat between regattas. Or better yet, plan to do the annual Surf City regatta on the weekend between!

Registration is open and is only $85 if you register before May 22nd! After that, price goes up to $110. 100% Refunds are available up until May 22nd also, so no reason to wait! Click here for the Registration on Clubspot.

Atlantic Coast Championship / Surf City Regatta June 12-13th

The “Pork Loin” Regatta is back! Come enjoy great sailing, frat house digs, walks on the beach and cook-out camaraderie on beautiful Long Beach Island.

Stay tuned for updates and/or contact Regatta Chair Lee Griffith for information on housing, hotels, etc. We sail on the Manahawkin Bay, but Lee’s house (and party central) is 1 block from the beach on the Atlantic.

US Snipe Nationals June 17-20th

SSA is psyched to be hosting the US Snipe Nationals this year! Measurement/Registration is Wednesday, followed by racing Thursday-Sunday. For a low entry fee, you will get customized swag, five days of Happy Hours on the SSA deck, award-winning Race Committee, excellent competition, and lots of stories to tell. This regatta qualifies 3 teams to represent the USA at the 2022 Snipe Worlds in Japan.

Need a charter boat? We have them, but they may go fast! Make sure to contact Henry Filter as soon as possible! They will be offered “first come, first served”.

If you are from out of town, start making your travel plans now! Limited housing will be available, but due to COVID, you might want to secure an AirBnB or hotel before rates go up. Check out the Housing section on www.snipefleetannapolis.com/nationals.
