With Summer half over, Fleet 532 is looking forward to some of the best sailing to come. We have a remarkable 9 boats headed out to San Diego for Snipe Nationals this week (July 11-15), but even back home, there are lots of great sailing opportunities including the Olivia Team Race July 16-17 at SSA being headed by our own power couple Brad & Marissa Milliken (contact them if you want to sail!). Of course, TESODs (Tuesday Night Racing) continue throughout the summer, 6-8pm at SSA.

Women’s Nationals Aug 6-7 hosted by SSA: This is an all-out effort for our Fleet being chaired by the new Sniper Sister team of Devon & Lauren Feusahrens. We need help with chartering, participation by all the ladies on the race course, housing, and boat boys to support. There will be a clinic on Friday afternoon, so don’t be afraid to hop in! Oxford One-Design Aug 13-14: The Mansion is back!!! The annual Oxford One-Design regatta is back at its full strength, including the schmancy awards banquet at the Harleigh waterfront estate. This is a super fun, super casual regatta at Tred Avon Yacht Club. It is a multi-class regatta, so it is important that we sign up as soon as possible to let them know we are coming. Housing can also be tight, so make those plans asap as well. The plan is also to make reservations for dinner Sat Night at Capsize, the fun local restaurant in town before going back to TAYC to enjoy the live music. Info and Registration is on Regatta Network.
NEW DATE!!! SSA Fall Series Aug 20-21: We were able to move our Fall Club regatta to avoid conflicting this the August Quassy (see below). This is the 4th of the 5 regattas that count toward the SSA Fleet Championship. Register on the SSA website.
Quassy Summer Regatta Aug 27-28: Since many of us had to miss the June Quassy, there is a movement afoot to support the second “Snipestock” (Snipe Camp? Snipe-a-palooza?) this year. The August Quassy is known for the addition of Surf & Turf to the Snipestock experience. Camping is de rigeuer, but there is a Wyndham nearby for the feint of heart. Snipe North Americans Sept 9-11 Toronto: Take a long weekend to head up to Canada for the Snipe NA’s hosted by Etobicoke YC on the Northwestern shores of Lake Erie just south of Toronto. Registration and NOR are on Clubspot.
We are still looking for a regatta chair for the Frigid Digit/D1 Champs Oct 1-2, so let me know if you’d like to step up! We provide the template and lots of support, so don’t be afraid to jump in. Also, we will be sending more info soon on the Hospice Cup hosted by EYC on Sept 17.
