We are so excited that we have 20 teams (and counting!) for the Women’s Nationals Aug 6-7! It is a great group of very competitive, very fun women across a gamut of Snipe veterans and Snipe newbies. Devon & Lauren Feusahrens, our Super Sista Regatta Chairs, have been working hard to make sure it is an excellent “Serious Sailing, Serious Fun” event, complete with free clinic Friday afternoon, Friday Blender Party, Saturday Luau and Kona Ice truck, DJ, and more! They have gotten amazing sponsors including CBYRA as Media Sponsor, Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast, and SCIRA’s District One as well as Athleta & Harken Derm for the Swag Bag and Raffle Prizes.
Running the Women’s Nationals is a full fleet effort. Thanks so much to our Boat Owners who have offered their boats for new and out-of-town women to sail and to those who have offered up housing. Thanks also to Keith Donald who will be our spectator and apres-sailing beverage boat.
Boat Boys / Clinic: If you are not already signed up officially on SSA’s Race Committee, but would like to lend a hand during the boat set up, clinic, launching, etc, please contact the Feusahrens at firstname.lastname@example.org so that she can best assign you. Are you so committed that you would like an Official Boat Boy Tankie? Marissa Milliken is selling them – contact her at Mfmilliken@gmail.com before they sell out!
Social Package/Saturday Luau: If you are not registered to sail, but would like to join us Saturday Night for the Luau and Raffle, you are welcome, but will need to buy a Social Ticket for $35 via this link by Tuesday Aug 2. Ladies – if you have a “plus one”, make sure you have purchased an extra ticket for them.
Friday BBQ & Blender Party: Thank you to the Millikens who are hosting our Friday night BBQ and Blender Party! Burgers, dogs, and basic sides will be provided by the regatta. The Plines are donating Blender drinks. Water will be provided, but if you would like other beverages, please BYO. Also, any extra sides you’d care to bring would be appreciated! The Millikens live in Arundel on the Bay, 3538 Cohasset Ave, 6:30-9:00. Please rsvp to Feusharens so we can get a head count: email@example.com.
Donations – Buy A Round! Due to many factors, the regatta’s ability to fund drinks at the SSA snack bar is limited. If you’d like to buy a round for the ladies, use this link! Donations of any amount are appreciated. Click here to donate!
Spectator Boat: Keith Donald has offered to be the Spectator boat aboard his Beneteau on both Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to be on this boat, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can make sure there is room! BYO sustenance.
