What to Expect Sailing In Annapolis and SSA Venue Information

Sadly – or fortunately, depending on your perspective – there is no simple answer to what are the conditions for sailing in Annapolis on the Chesapeake Bay beyond the old Stuart Walker adage:

When the wind is from the south, go right. When the wind is from the north, go left. When the wind is from the east, go to Marmadukes!

Sailing Venue Map

The primary SSA racing area is Area “A” approximately 1 mile east of Greenbury Point. Area “C” off Bembe Beach is an alternative based on conditions, or Area “D” in the Severn River if adverse weather conditions warrant.
