The Oxford One-Design Regatta this weekend exceeded expectations with gorgeous weather, a great group of sailors, and awesome social vibe. Congrats to Arthur Blodgett/Charlie Bess who squeaked out a win by one point over Gavin & Holly O’Hare & Lisa Pline/Lucas Masciello who took 2nd & 3rd place respectively in a tie-breaker. The racing was super close over 6 college-length races in crazy shifty conditions. There were more than one “photo finish”! Of course, you don’t really go to Oxford for the racing, and the social aspect did not disappoint either! Killer Dark & Stormies at TAYC led to happy hour on the O’Hares Alban led to Snipe dinner at the local Capsize restaurant led to dancing to an awesome funk band at TAYC (which led to a few hungover people Sunday morning LOL). Thanks again to the “traveling Snipe Fleet” that added fun people to the numbers. Folks are already planning how to make next year’s Oxford even better!
