Member Spotlight: Annapolis Fleet Members going above & beyond!

A big shout out goes to local Snipe Fleet members doing their part during the pandemic.  We are so proud of Kristin Mullins who is the Assoc Director of the core laboratories point of care testing at UMD Medical Center. Her labs run all the basic lab testing for hospitalized patients including COVID-19 patients. In addition to testing for UMMC and supporting the Convention Center hospital testing, she has been working to develop the antibody testing for the Medical Center so that all employees of the medical system will have the option to get tested for antibodies. How perfect that she and husband Chris Adriance are also stepping up to run our “COVID-compliant” Colonial Cup at the end of June!

Zack Kelchner is also doing his part as a Principal Undersea Systems Engineer for Northrup Grumman.  Zack has been using his 3D printers at work to make masks and face shields for the COVID response effort.   Mom Georgie Peet, also an SSA member and Snipe Fleet volunteer has also been doing her part sewing hundreds of masks for hospitals and school nutrition front line workers in Anne Arundel County.

Final shout out goes to Rich McVeigh.  Not only did Rich step up to organize the very successful Dave Dellenbaugh webinars for SSA, he is also lending his PhD in microbiology and molecular genetics to serve on SSA’s Health Supervisory committee.  Rich & Carol are active sailors and volunteers within the fleet and with their Hobie Cat.
